So a few weeks ago, this email went around at work telling us about a 'Matter box'. A box full of advertising which you'll like. We all hate junk mail, especially when it constantly comes through our letter boxes and especially if it's not relative to our demographic.

The Matter box attempts to change that by sending you advert based free gifts and presents, all wrapped into one nice box that'll you'll actually want to receive. The gifts are filtered at the other end, so you don't receive stuff that won't be of interest to you, and you don't receive anything boring.

The first Matter box came through the post last week and contained some pretty cool stuff:

Music Monster: From Sony Ericsson, for your keys
Wii Sweat Band: From Nintendo, for your Wii Sports' work-outs!
A Muesli Book: From Jordon's Superfoods/Penguin Books. Muesli with an extract from 'Three Men in a Boat' on it, as everyone reads the back of cereal packets!
Play-doh: Courtesy of Sony Bravia, so you can make your own bunny rabbits
Vodka Pendant: From Stolichnaya Vodka
Crayons that are actually soap: From Nissan. (Not everything's as it seems)
Car Top Trumps: From Evo magazine, a automotive version of Top Trumps.
Calendar: From Virgin Atlantic
