Fun At The Zoo

I took Amy to London Zoo on Saturday, and I think I've now decided what my favourite zoo animal is. Find out what it is below, and feel free to take part in the "fun" games along the way!

It was a beautiful autumn's day on Saturday, there was very little cloud or wind, just the freshness of the air and the gentle touch of summer's left over sunshine. London Zoo, located in Regent's Park, makes for such a peaceful change from the rest of the hustle bustle of London and contains a fairly large selection of animals such as giraffes, monkeys, flamingos, bears, lions, tigers, otters etc. The price for admission for adults is £16 each, and I'd made a picnic for us to take as the food and drink prices in the zoo are pretty steep.

It was our second visit to the zoo since I've been living in London, and even after this visit we still felt we hadn't seen everything. The new Gorilla Kingdom was very spacious and clean, although the gorilla's seemed to prefer life indoors to out.

Amy was very brave and went into the butterfly enclosure, despite her fear of moths.

I bought Amy a small cuddly bunny rabbit toy, which we thought would be funny to take a photo of. Little did we realise when I started to take a photo of it we would have a crowd of people wanting to see what we were photographing. It was quite funny when they realised it was just a small toy.

Spending time with the squirrel monkeys made me realise how long I could actually spend just watching them running about, climbing trees, eating berries and having fun. London Zoo let's you get so close to them too - there are no barriers between you and the monkeys, they roam freely in their area. They are so cute, and easily my favourite animals at the zoo, although the Meercats are funny too! Here's a few photos from our visit:
