Happy New Year!

It's a new year, and hopefully with a new year comes some changes. Life changes... hopefully all good!

It's the same every year, we try to achieve our ridiculous goals and by February it all goes wrong. Take giving up alcohol, for example!

Still, maybe this year will be different. There's a few things I want to change, and while I don't want to talk about them all too much right now, hopefully we'll all get to see their fruits ripen in the coming months!

Two things I do want to talk about is:

  • Running: I want to do more running this year. Running is a good way to get fit for cheap; a good time to think; and I live by some very, very beautiful parts of London. It's time I appreciated them. I started running today, but it looks like Dave and I may go running Wednesdays.
  • Assertiveness: Mr Nice Guy is all very well and fine, but not if you're not assertive. This year I want to be more assertive, and I want to prove that doesn't mean you can't stop being a nice guy. I just want to be able say 'no' or 'I don't want to do that' and not feel bad about it.

Sorry I haven't posted in ages! I've been so busy, but I hope to get this site back up and running to full speed in the next few days, and then we can chat Christmas and New Year!

Speaking of Christmas, I need to get these damn Christmas songs off my iTunes. Night.

I m with you on the assertiveness, over the last year I ve tried to be a bit more fourthright and do what I want but I still feel rubbish when I know that I ll be dissapointing other people. I do need to be a bit better at it before I start work properly otherwise people will walk all over me and we can t have that can we?! [;)]

As for exercise that was last years resolution and it was the only one that I managed to keep. I get bored running but then I ve only really got an industrial estate to run around unless I want to drive somewhere first. So the Gym has been my haunting ground, seems to have done it s job though - I beat JB in the Sport Relief mile in the summer! I ve also stuck to my Fencing and will hopefully be doing it for the first time this year tonight.

Everyone seems to be very cryptic this year about what they want to change in their lives - I m starting to get worried that everyones going to murder me or something!

I feel my assertiveness is almost mastered and as a person I can make a decision if required and not feel too bad about it afterwards.

There are a few changes I'd like to make in my life but I can't bare New Years Resolutions. I would rather make personal goals. I have 2 so far and my attitude is more than possitive and therefore I will succeed [BM]

Have a nice week everyone [:D]

Hey mate I like the two goals you've set. You do need to do a bit more of what you want and less of what others want. It makes for a happier Andrew.

Running is boring I agree with that but also a great way to get fit.

I had my iPod on shuffle yesterday and it started playing Cliff Richard 21st Century Christmas. This song was all very well over the Xmas period but now it is annoying. Have to sort out my iTunes too.
